Whether you are a first time mama excitedly (and maybe nervously) scheduling newborn photos or maybe you’re adding a second, or third, or FOURTH and you’re worried about how newborn photos are going to go this time around with extra tiny humans running around. Whichever boat you are in, I want you to know that I completely understand the nerves that come with hiring a photographer!
If we haven’t met yet, my name is Rachel Miller and I am a family and motherhood photographer in Asheville, North Carolina. Not only do I create bright and joyful images that capture the unique love and connection that each family has, I also create calm and stress-free environments during my photo sessions that take the pressure off of everyone to be posed and perfect!
Below are the top 5 things that I want every mama to know before their RMP Newborn Session. So you can relax and actually look forward to your newborn photo session!
Please don’t clean your house for me! You have enough to do already! We will concentrate on 1-3 areas of your home with bright, natural light. Don’t worry, we can toss any dirty laundry to the side. 😜
I won’t come to your session with any fixed agenda. We will focus primarily on baby’s needs and mama’s natural lead. Both of you are recovering from a major life event, after all! I will remain flexible, calm, and attentive throughout your session to create a relaxed and peaceful environment for everybody!
I have worked with SO many toddlers over the years, and even have two of my very own. I’ve got a utility belt filled with PLENTY of strategies to help your toddler bypass tantrums and feel comfortable, valued and happy during your session!
I will bring a baby Moses basket, blankets, newborn wraps, and dresses of your choice from my RMP Client Closet. Best of all? I will bring you the ultimate gold – COFFEE! Newborn life is SO precious and SO challenging! My job is to make your session stress-free so that you can enjoy this intentional time capturing this fleeting season of life with your beloved family.
You are doing the hard thing! Give yourself so much grace. You are taking care of both yourself and a very tiny, very needy human. You are tired and overwhelmed, but you continue to show up and do it! I am here to help you and cheer you on, no judgment included. ❤️
