There is nothinggg like Christmas time at the Biltmore Estate! You know it’s gotta be good when they make a Hallmark movie about it! Check out this romantic couples session (+ their adorable golden retriever) we captured last November at the Biltmore! On this blog you will see just a handful of my favorite photos that we captured during an extended couples session (90 minutes) at the Biltmore Estate! The extra time that the couple added on allowed us to visit the Upper Lawn, Lower Lawn, Front of the House, and Meadow! And we didn’t even touch the surface of all of the beautiful backdrops that this property has to offer!
We started out on the upper front lawn of the Biltmore Estate property! This area is sloped and grassy with a great far-away view of the house and lawn! It is also easily accessible down a short trail from parking lot A! There is plenty of room to run around and find a space that isn’t being used by other visitors, even during busy season!
It’s also a great space for dogs! Dogs are welcome on Biltmore property, just not in the house! There are tons of beautiful trails and grassy places to explore with your pup and we did just that! If you already know you want to book your next Biltmore session, inquire here! Keep reading for more details on decorations and tickets!
Next, we explored the lower lawn! This area is closer to the house and has large, lit Christmas trees starting in November! This year the Biltmore Estate will be decorated from November 2, 2024–January 5, 2025! In addition to the Christmas trees on the front lawn, you’ll see there are other touches of Christmas decorations on the exterior of the house like garland on the stair case, luminaries scattered about, wreathes around necks of the lion statues and additional lit Christmas trees which can be seen inside just inside the front doors!
We kept exploring the lower front lawn by getting closer to the house! You can access this whole space and actually everything you see in this blog post with just grounds passes which is SO awesome!
And don’t be fooled by how empty background looks, in November and December the property is packed with visitors! That is why you need a great photographer to get the best angles and seamlessly edit out any unwanted distractions from the background of your images! 🙂
We saw a Biltmore trolly park and it had this adorable wreath on the front so we asked the driver if we could take a few pictures in front of it and they were so kind and welcoming and said yes!
I need to figure out a better name for what to call this photo spot, or find out if there is an official name already! The courtyard? The window wall? Whatever you’d like to call it, this spot is my FAVORITE and also still accessible with grounds passes!! It definitely gives full on castle vibes and looks great all year long! I can’t resist a few spins over here, it’s just too romantic not too!
Okay, The Meadow is definitely not the official name for this space but it’s the best name I have come up for it! There is a trail that goes out from the side of the Biltmore House and right off of this trial you get these GORGEOUS rolling hills and giant trees and mountain views and it is just absolutely breathtaking all year long! If I am ever looking for a photo spot that will still look beautiful in the off-season, I always think of this spot first! It honestly reminds me of a Jane Austen book/movie! Like Elizabeth Bennett (aka Keira Knightley in my head) running across the countryside trying to get to Mr. Darcy!
And as the sun started to set, we took advantage of the beautiful sky and danced around one last time to finish off our incredible couples session! We had so much fun through out this whole session and I am just so thankful that my job let’s me hang out with awesome couples and capture their love with the most gorgeous background that NC has to offer!
