If you are planning a Summer Babymoon in Asheville (mid-June-mid-September) Flying Cloud Farm has U-pick flowers and a self-service station which make it so easy to pop over whenever, fill up a bucket of whatever is in bloom, and pay for it yourself using their venmo QR code or cash drop box! Around mid-June is when their blueberry bushes are ripe and available for picking form as well!

Accepts venmo payments.

Parking: Limited, gravel parking lot near farm stand

I’m not just recommending this, I actually did this while pregnant!
I also photograph families here often!

Are you hoping to relax on your Babymoon?? Wake Foot Sanctuary is the most relaxing experience and the best part is that having your feet rubbed is actually optional! I got my husband to come with me on our anniversary last year and his life was forever changed. He doesn’t like people touching his feet, but during your foot soak you get to choose which area you want to be massaged and we both chose the head/neck/shoulders option!

Reservations: Highly recommended, but you can call ahead and see if they have any day-of availability. (828) 575-9799

Parking: Paid meter street parking around the Grove Arcade Building and there’s also a paid parking deck nearby.

Hours: Mon-Sun 9am-8pm

What I Order: The Salty Beach Rose Soak with the Head/Neck/Shoulders Massage AND the Vanilla Tea!

If you have been feeling good and remaining active throughout your pregnancy, I’ll share a few of my favorite hikes! The only downside to going on hikes is that there are usually no bathrooms around so…beware! But hopefully you’ll be moving around enough that you won’t feel the urge to go until after!

  • Max Patch (Hot Springs, NC) (longggg drive, short hike, 10/10 panoramic views)
  • Bear Wallow (Hendersonville, NC) (windy drive, moderate 2mi rt hike, 10/10 panoramic views and cows!)
  • Black Balsam Knob (Canton, NC) (long drive, moderate-hard 2 mi rt hike, 100/10 panoramic views)

I love walking around cute downtowns and there are SO many around Downtown Asheville! Here are my favorites…not in any order because I can’t decide!

  • Downtown Hendersonville
  • Downtown Brevard
  • Downtown Black Mountain
  • Downtown Waynesville
  • Downtown Greenville, SC (only an hour away)

Just beware of small town shops/restaurants on Sundays and Mondays! Everyone likes to close Sun-Mon!

Personally I don’t drink at all, but I still love going to our local breweries! Here are a few of our favorites that have food too!

Starting in late August, Hendersonville becomes the place to be with Apple Orchards hitting their peak season! At most orchards you can pick your own apples and enjoy delicious treats like Apple Cider donuts, Apple Cider slushies, and more! Here are a few of our favorites!

The Biltmore Estate property has so many fun things to do! You can of course tour the house, but you can also explore the gardens, visit the farm animals, bike the trail, eat ice cream at the creamery, ride in a horse-drawn carriage, and more! This is also the perfect place to have your maternity photos taken!
